Bethlehem House has moved from its old location on 152 Northampton Street to the new location at 33 Knipfer Avenue, Easthampton, MA. This increases the size of the facility from 2000 sq ft to 3000 sq ft.

It will be hosting an open house on December 29, 2013 (The R.C. celebration of the Feast of the Holy Family) at 2:30pm. The Most Reverend Bishop McDonnell of the Springfield Diocese will bless the location in a ceremony at 3:00pm.

The open house will include a tour, refreshments and live music by David Congo.

Knights of Columbus Council 1116, Our Lady of the Valley Parish
When the plans for renovation of the old Rectory on OLV’s Sacred Heart Campus were being thought out, Council 1116 was immediately contacted to see if this could be accomplished using members. The Knights immediately said yes and over 600 service hours have been put into the project in October and November 2013.

This involved repairing and painting all walls and ceilings, removing the old carpeting, doing electrical and carpentry repairs, and moving all of the furniture and supplies from the old to the new location.

The Knights were very excited in serving this aspect of the Pro-life ministry.

Quote from Knight Jay Oelrich (Council Public Relations)

“Bethlehem House provides a ministry that opens and eases the pathway to the young mother in crisis for birthing and keeping her child. We are always, and will always, take a stand against abortion. In this case, our service supports the effort to address the very real needs that these women, bringing a quality of life to mother and child before and after birth. Being able to be involved with that brings a real joy to one’s faith!”

Bethlehem House is a 501c3 non-profit, faith-based organization located in Western Massachusetts which offers free and confidential pregnancy resources for women and men in crisis. We reach out to provide loving and nurturing support to help all members of the family in this time of need. No one is turned away.

Bethlehem House is now assisting about 50 families per month. Working with local college campuses, churches, hospitals and birthing centers we offer many services including gifts of baby supplies and other necessities, educational programs, support and counseling as well as provide referrals for area services.

In 1994, Our Lady of Guadalupe Home Foundation, Inc. was founded in Rutland, VT with the creation of their Pregnancy Resource Center. It then expanded its services to create Mary & Joseph's Place in North Haven, CT and Bethlehem House of Western Mass which opened its doors in Easthampton in 2006. These services are overseen by Barbara Mucha, Dianne Ferrara, and, in Easthampton, by Pamela Hibbard.

In July of 2010, Bethlehem House moved into its previous 2000 sq ft home located on RT 10, (152 Northampton St.) in Easthampton, Massachusetts. It began renovating moving into its new 3000 sq ft home on 33 Knipfer St in October 2013. This location is on the Sacred Heart campus of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton and was formally the Sacred Heart Rectory before that Parish was closed.

Pamela Hibbard, director, oversees a staff of 5 councilors and over 80 volunteers who work to provide services to individuals in all four counties of Western Mass. Services at Bethlehem House include a 24 hr. crisis hotline, counseling and referrals, FREE confidential pregnancy testing, assistance in obtaining prenatal care, financial/legal aid, job training, emergency food, maternity and baby supplies, childbirth and child care programs, breastfeeding classes, educational assistance, adoption information and abstinence and STD education

Working closely with area hospitals to identify clients in need, the organization delivers baby baskets to new moms and babies at four area hospitals including  Bay State Hospital, Cooley Dickinson Birthing Center, Holyoke Hospital Birthing Center, and Mercy Hospital Family Life Center for Maternity.  These "Welcome Baby" baskets are filled with all the necessities - diapers and wipes, bibs, booties, baby bath, blankets, clothing, towels and more.

Bethlehem House of Western Mass holds several events and fundraisers each year in order to raise awareness about our services and to gather donations to help us continue our mission Many parishes and churches throughout the area partner with Bethlehem House using programs like Baby Bottle Boomerang, by hosting baby showers, and Sew For Us program.
