Deveploment: Directed Gifts

planned giving

Direct Your Gift to a Particular Project or Ministry
You may direct your gift to a particular parish ministry or parish capital improvement fund.  Such gifts are often done "in memory" of a loved one but you may also give a gift to a ministry or project that is close to you.

To make a directed gift, simply make the check payable to Our Lady of the Valley Parish and write the name of the fund on the memo line.

You will receive a Thank You letter indicating the amount of the gift that you may use for tax purposes.  In the case of a memorial gift the next of kin will be notified that a gift has been made.  The gift will also be noted in our weekly parish bulletin.  The amount of the gift will not be divulged to the next of kin nor will it appear in the bulletin.  If you wish to make your gift 'anonymously' simply write anonymous on the check and we will respect your privacy.

Directed Giving Funds:

Beautification Fund
It is a dream of ours to repaint the inside of the Church.  A definite color scheme has not yet been decided upon but, in general, we would like to 'lighten' the walls of the Church to make it brighter and perhaps paint the sanctuary walls a light Marian blue.  We would also like to clean and restore the medallions of the Apostles that line the nave as well as the stations of the cross.  We would also like to replace the brown paneling in the High Altar with white panels and restore the notches that were once there to hold statues.  The first Phase will be the repainting of the churches interior and High Altar, which we estimate will cost $150,000

Missions Fund
OLV has two sister parishes:  San Martin in Peru and Blessed Sacrament/All Souls in Springfield.  We do our best to help our sister parishes with funds they need to do everything from paying the heating bills to building a new Church.  Most of the funding comes from a monthly offertory envelopes and fund raisers throughout the year.  Additional donations are always welcome.

Memorial Fund
The memorial fund is used by the pastor to purchase sacred vessels and furnishings for the Church.

Our Lady's Child Care Center Financial Aid Fund
OLV runs a Child Care Center at the Notre Dame campus for infants to pre-school.  This wonderful ministry of the parish provides affordable child care to the local community, regardless of their faith.

Rohan Organ Fund
Our parish is blessed to have a magnificent pipe organ, which is in fine working condition.  Recently rebuilt, the organ will add to the splendor of liturgical ceremonies as well as organ concerts for generations to come.  But organs need regular care and preventive maintenance.  The Rohan Organ Fund assures that the organ will always be in tune and in good repair.

Take and Eat Fund
Two weekends a month Our Lady of the Valley parishioners provide home bound and elderly members of the greater community with good meals, regardless of their faith.  This program augments Meals on Wheels, which provides food only on week days.  Take and Eat tries to fill in the gaps on weekends.
